🐀 Is A Honda Shadow 750 A Good Starter Bike
So, yes: the Honda Shadow is very, very cool. The Cons of the Honda Shadow. While this bike belongs at the top of your first-time bike list, you will need to be aware of a few disadvantages. Lack of Power. At first, you will enjoy your bike’s power and even be a little wary of its neck-whipping acceleration ability.
On the other hand for those who think that 750 Shadow drive line can't take 100 mph, virtually any Japanese motorcycle engine can be run easily within 880% of it's redline all day long. That Shadow engine and driveline can easliy tolerate 100 mph continuous. Same engineering went into it as went into all Hondas.
I'm pretty much the same size as your GF, also female, and I bought a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 for my first bike. The Spirit is lower than other Shadows, so the weight was not a problem. I took a motorcycle course that provided us with little 150cc bikes in a parking lot to start, then a 250 cc bike for some road practice, and I had little issue
The 750 ACE's had the pegs back a couple inches as opposed to most other 750 Shadows. For me, that makes it more comfortable. There are many other things to consider when deciding on which variant to choose, but one thing is clear. as primalmu stated, ALL the Shadow bikes are Excellent bikes!
The Spirit of 750. The Honda Shadow was introduced in 1983 with two options. a good look that represents a more modern appeal. Check out more new bikes in Rider‘s 2024 Motorcycle Buyers
After a couple of years of not riding I got back into riding, got a good deal on an 09 Honda Aero 750, had the bike for a year before outgrowing it, didn't mind the power, but I just felt cramped on longer rides, I'm 6'2, so trade it for an 06 Sabre 1100, I just liked the way that bike felt from day one, and the difference in power between it and the a 750, the bike had 13000 miles on it when
Safety for a beginning Rider is at the heart of the design of this little baby. If you are a new rider, buy a 250 cc bike of some kind. I am familiar with the Rebel, so I will give you a rundown of its capabilities. 1) The Rebel has plenty of power for city driving.
a rebel is a light commuter bike. its no good for the freeway ( at least in tx and ca where the bulk of my riding is) . it might do it but you'll have the throttle wide open for a while before you'll hit 70. the shadow is decent for a commuter bike that requires freeway capabilities but is underpowered for long trips, but its doable.. liability
But for your size, the 950 will be the better choice. Similar power to the 1100, which definitely comes in handy. The 650 and 750 are awesome bikes, but im 5'8 and cramped slightly on the 650. The 750 (ACE) is better with wide bars, but could benefit from forward controls. Sent from Motorcycle.com Free App.
84 Honda shadow 700/750 starting problems. So I purchased this bike last year, I wish I could say I got it for a good price. After thinking whether I should sell it and cut my losses or fix it up myself, I decided to keep it. My first issue is getting it started. It wont start under it's own power, it has to be jumped.
Handles just fine at those speeds, and has a surprising amount of pep to it for a 750. The wind will toss you around a bit, but I didn't find it to be unbearable. I can't really speak to the comfort part, because the RS is a standard vs the Phantom cruiser setup. IMO a Shadow 750 is about as good as it gets for a starter bike.
Ok guys, things are a changing here at "Case De Bassdude".Today my son had his first day at work (McDonald's) and I got a call to do a drug screen for a
That's a good starter bike, if you end up doing lots of 2-up riding you'll want something bigger with more torque. I went from a Honda Shadow 750 to a Vulcan 1500 classic Fi. Reply reply
The vulcan 900 has good suspension travel (longer than most cruisers), which makes for a smooth and comfortable ride. The gas tank is bigger than most too, the bike has up to 250 mile range. Because the bike has "more than adequate" power (but not large amounts) you do have to row the gears at times. Tourer.

WAY too hard on battery and starter.:-x And this spring was no exception. I even tried that trick I read on this forum about hitting your kill switch on and off 20-30 times.
