4 posts · Joined 2008. #1 · Apr 9, 2008. Just bought myself a focus 2001 1.6 zetec. Run fine at first but seems to have developed some sort of misfire. Say your doing about 30-40mph in 4th, I put my foot down and it seems to stutter or misfire. I will do it in other gears at low speed also, but once the speed has been built up, it goes fine. I have Focus MK2 1.6 Ti-VCT with 55reg that died in the fly, all lights on dashboard and the car just died. Add 1 quart to the oil and drive the car for a day. Change the oil and filter. Use the cheapest oil you can find. Add another quart of transmission fluid. Drive for another day.
